As a proud lifelong New Englander I am obsessed with clam shacks, lobster houses and small family-owned, waterside seafood spots. These small seafood shacks and lobster houses aren't just place to eat, they're part of New England's culture.
Many of the traditional seafood shacks grew out of the commercial fishing industry itself. Many began as tiny operations where lobster fishermen or clammers sold part of the day's catch directly from a dock or roadside stand. Over time, picnic tables, fryers, and hand-painted signs were added, and these dockside stands slowly evolved into these beloved seafood locations.
This print features The Lobster Trap restaurant located on Cape Cod in Bourne, Massachusetts. The Lobster Trap has been a popular stop for locals and visitors since 1969.
The Lobster Pot is a Provincetown Tradition and the iconic neon lobster sign has guided generations of guests through the front door.
