For my entire life I have been fascinated with lighthouses. As a lifelong New Englander I grew up around so many of these amazing structures and have always been drawn to them. Whenever I'm near the coast I make it a point to visit these landmarks, and I am always in awe of their beauty and of their historic value.
Ocracoke Light is a lighthouse that was built in Hyde County, on Ocracoke Island, North Carolina in 1823. The lighthouse stands 75 feet and was built to help guide ships through Ocracoke Inlet into Pamlico Sound.
