The Lone Star Inn, Roadside Diner & Cabins was a famous roadside pitstop and motel along US Route 99 between Tulare and Fresno, California. The establishment was proudly managed by ex-Texans who migrated west, inspiring its Lone Star namesake. It featured a cafe offering steak dinners, chili beans, hamburgers, ham & eggs, and hot dogs, and the property also included a cluster of small wooden cabins for weary travelers along US Route 99.
As with many of the art prints in my Americana series, this print was taken from a source photo by renowned Farm Security Administration (FSA) photographer Dorothea Lange, which perfectly captured the spirit of the Great Depression era.
