While searching online for source photographs to use for this Americana series I stumbled upon a black and white photo taken in 1939 by photographer Russell Lee of the Hi-Way Sandwich Shop which was located in Waco, Texas. Russell Lee was a photographer with the Farm Security Administration (FSA) photography project which was created to send photographers all over the country to document how locals and travelers lived during that era. Most if not all FSA photographs are in the Smithsonian.
The building was covered with beer signs and the thirties-era vehicles parked out front are a great example of early Americana.

A NOTE ABOUT DIGITAL ART: Art Prints are created using a combination of AI technology, Procreate (with custom Impasto effect brushes) and Photoshop. Some visual elements in this artwork may have been created using AI technology, and then refined through manual editing in Procreate and/or Photoshop (lettering/signs/logos) to enhance and create the final design.
