The Fillmore East was an iconic venue located on Second Avenue near East 6th Street on the lower east side of Manhattan. The club was owned by in operation between March 8, 1968 through June 27, 1971 and was owned by legendary rock promotor Bill Graham.
This print features the marquee from September 1970 when the Grateful Dead played a famous four-night run from September 17-20. These shows featured a classic 1970 format including an intimate first set, a middle set which featured New Riders of the Purple Sage, followed by the Dead returning for a powerful electric set.
