During the redevelopment of Beale Street in the early 90s, B.B. King teamed up with businessman and local visionary Tommy Peters to create an iconic entertainment destination. Together they opened the first B.B. King's Blues Club which opened during the Beale Street Blues Festival in 1991. The supper-club style restaurant became an anchor that led to a new wave of development on Beale Street and is now one of the hottest tourist spots in Memphis.
