The Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin. The source photo used to create this painting was taken during a recording session from 1967 at Muscle Shoals Sound Studio in Muscle Shoals Alabama.
In January 1967, producer Jerry Wexler brought Aretha to Muscle Shoals to record with the legendary house band, the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section. The result was Aretha's iconic Atlantic Records debut album I Never Loved a Man (The Way I Love You).
