The Fillmore East was an iconic venue located on Second Avenue near East 6th Street on the lower east side of Manhattan. The club was owned by in operation between March 8, 1968 through June 27, 1971 and was owned by legendary rock promotor Bill Graham.
In March of 1971, The Allman Brothers played four shows at the Fillmore which were recorded by producer Tom Dowd and later released as At The Fillmore, still widely acknowledged to this day as one of the greatest live albums ever recorded.
