For my entire life I have been fascinated with lighthouses. As a lifelong New Englander I grew up around so many of these amazing structures and have always been drawn to them. Whenever I'm near the coast I make it a point to visit these landmarks, and I am always in awe of their beauty and of their historic value. The Hunting Island Light is located in Hunting Island State Park on Hunting Island near Beaufort, South Carolina. The lighthouse was built in 1859 and is no longer used as a functioning lighthouse.
